      In , Jackson took part in the Tennessee constitutional convention and was elected as the new state’s first member of the Federal House of Representatives. Although elevated to the Senate the following year, he left Washington in , soon joined the Tennessee Superior Court, and remained on the bench until George Maxwell Robeson (Ma – Septem ) was an American Republican Party politician and lawyer from New Jersey who served as a Union army general during the American Civil War, and then as Secretary of the Navy during the Grant Administration. During the 19th Century, Sec. Robeson's seven years in office as Secretary of Navy was second in Alma mater: Princeton University. Electric Boat has two contracts with the Navy – one a $94 million contract to repair the USS Miami, the Groton-built nuclear submarine that caught fire at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard May 23; and the second a $ million contract to work on the USS Providence, which was scheduled to come into Groton later this year.
